Artist Statement :

Deriving motivations from my experiences is how my work begins.  The process of reconstituting materials from refuse and applying conceptual praxis is how my work completes.  Manipulation of geometric forms applied to the recycled materials creates a minimal aesthetic.   Allowing the aesthetic to break from traditional cannon motivates the work forward.  Reflecting upon the nature of art history, philosophy, religion, and social constructs adds dimension to the works beyond the aesthetic.

Employing a play of light and line gives my work a focal point where the interaction of materials presents a concept.   A concept that is not limited to the possibilities of the interaction of contemporary materials with traditional sculpture practices.    Blurring these current boundaries with raw application push the aesthetic beyond the conceptual limitations that drive the work.
